Whenever a lookup is happening, such as to populate a form variable using external data, the Nintex Form shows this grey shaded area and the grey color changes and moves left to right. It kind of indicates an “in progress” situation but it is really is ugly and I wish we could customize it. I want it to actually say “Please wait a few seconds while we retrieve your information” or something descriptive of what is going on.
Next, when the lookup completes but it does not find a matching record, it displays a really ugly yellow box that says “Data failed to load.” This makes the user believe that the form is broken, but it isn’t really broken, it simply can’t find a matching record.
I try to use form rules to hide these things but that becomes complicated so anything you can do to make it easier would help. Please add some control configuration options or form variable settings that gives you the option to display something else when the lookup is happening and something else when the lookup returns no results or an error.
