Great News! Choice controls now support choice options from external data sources. This effectively provides multi-select for data lookup - a powerful capability that eliminates workarounds and limitations posed by external data support. The linked video shows a detailed demonstration. Help documentation can be found here.
PS: We have the capability of removing duplicates planned for Choice controls that will solve the problem outlined in this idea
