Currently the data lookup control only returns the 'option value' for the control in the form variables. If we want to use the label we need to add in an external data source variable or a query in the workflow actions.
This is a unnecessary double lookup.
It would be helpful in the form variables to return the control as 2 parts, i.e. :-
ControlName (Value)
ControlName (Label)
Hi Akshay,
I don't believe the recent update addresses this request at all.
Using the video as an example: It sets up the scenario where multiple "titles" could be selected, returning the "currency" associated with each one. This request is about returning both, the selected label ("title" in this case), as well as the associated value ("currency" in this case).
If I'm incorrect and this is actually possible with this update, please let me know.
Thank you
Hi Gavin,
Great News! Choice controls now support choice options from external data sources. This effectively provides single and multi-select for data lookup - a powerful capability that eliminates workarounds and limitations posed by external data support. The linked video shows a detailed demonstration. Help documentation can be found here Choice - Multiple and here Choice - Single.
Thanks!
Thank you very much for posting your feedback for our review. Due to very low votes, we will not be adding this request to the near-term backlog. We are also focused on other highly requested features such as Form Participant permissions, Repeating sections re-usability, etc. Please keep the feedback coming as it is critical for our longer-term planning.
